Marjorie Grice Creel

Marjorie Louise Grice Creel, age 99, born March 30, 1927, went to her Heavenly Home October 20, 2026.  She was the daughter of the late Robert W. Grice and Lillian Barnes Grice of Kenly, North Carolina.  She was preceded in death by her sisters Ruth Horton, Janice Wilder, Linda Byrd and brothers Bobby and Glen Grice.  

She is survived by her sister Dianne Jernigan of Hickory, North Carolina; two daughters, Cynthia Holmes Hubbard of Salisbury, NC and Cheryl Holmes Blake of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter Jeanene Nolte, and great grandchildren Jessica Nolte, Tiffanie Nolte, and Nickie Nolte all of Hampton, Virginia.  She has five nieces and six nephews.  

Marjorie grew up in Johnston County and moved to Goldsboro after graduating from Kenly High School.  She worked as a phone operator at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and then Southern Bell until she retired.

Marjorie loved to cook and published a cookbook called Grice Family Recipes. She was a strong, independent woman raising her two daughters on her own. She was a longtime devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church of Raleigh and drew her strength from her beloved Lord.  Marjorie will be missed by all who knew her.

A private service will be held at the funeral home. For service details, please contact the family directly.  In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks to make a donation to Friendship Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC.
