Michael Glenn Sauls

Michael Glenn Sauls, 57, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on October 5, 2026.
Michael was born in Garner, North Carolina, to William Glenn Sauls and Marcia Stone Brooks on March 10, 1969. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he met Mary Jane, who he affectionately referred to as “Cutey”. They were married in 1992, and built a life together rooted in love, faith and family, raising their two beautiful daughters, Taylor Grace and Kassidy Elizabeth. After college, Michael completed Officer Candidate School and proudly served in the NC National Guard. In addition, he earned his Master’s in Business Administration, and went on to have a fulfilling and successful career in procurement, quality, and risk mitigation.
Michael’s faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life and guided the way he loved, served, and cared for others. He enjoyed studying the bible and attended Bible Study Fellowship for 15 years. He served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher at White Oak Baptist Church, where he found joy in sharing the Word of God and living out his faith through meaningful acts of service. Whether fixing what needed fixing, lending a hand with a project, or taking care of something before anyone had to ask, Michael had a gift for seeing what needed to be done and making it happen. His family was his greatest earthly treasure, and he poured that same love and dedication into everything he did. He loved a spreadsheet, a solid plan, a good grilling session, great food, driving his Jeep, and being on a boat or near the water. A former triathlete, he brought determination and enthusiasm to whatever he pursued.
Michael will be remembered for his infectious smile, his humor, optimism, and genuine ability to connect with people. He had a welcoming spirit and an authentic way of making others feel comfortable enough to be themselves. His faith remained steadfast as he faced a difficult journey with courage, hope, humor, and unwavering trust in Jesus Christ. Through the way he lived and the way, he faced life’s hardest moments, Michael leaves behind a powerful example of faith, resilience, and love. His family hopes that the strength and grace with which he walked through this season will continue to inspire and encourage all who knew him.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, William Glenn Sauls and Marcia Stone Brooks. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary Jane Sauls; his daughters, Taylor Grace Sauls and Kassidy Elizabeth Sauls; his brothers, Brandon (Kelly) Sauls and Ryan (Katharin) Sauls; his uncle, Mickey Sauls; as well as his nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to White Oak Baptist Church, General Aniline & Film (GAF), and the countless friends and neighbors who supported Michael and his family throughout this journey.
