Nancy Squires Tempesta

Nancy Squires Tempesta (6/27/28-10/27/2021) passed away after a brief illness. She was born and raised in the Chapel Hill, NC area, graduating from Chapel Hill High School in 1945. She was a life long U.N.C. Tar Heels fan.
Nancy had a successful career as a hairdresser operating shops in Chapel Hill. She finished her career working at the Orange County Register of Deeds office
Nancy was very active in her later years, sewing, knitting, and attending water aerobic classes at the Orange County Sports Plex.
She is survived by her daughter, Toni Shannon (Mike), granddaughter, Krista Lawson (John), two great grandchildren, Harper and Avery Lawson, her brother Johnny Squires (Donna), her nephew, Doug Squires, her niece Amy Faucette (Freddy) along with their three children, Hunter, Aadie, and Makayla Faucette. She is also survived by many, many other nieces and nephews scattered across the state and Country
It was always said that Nancy never met a stranger she didn't love. and she was loved by many. She will be missed in our hearts for years to come.
Grave side services are planned for later this month
Family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hock Family Pavilion ( A Duke hospice facility)
