Richard Chirulla

Richard S Churilla, 90, husband of Janice Churilla of Raleigh, NC, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at home with his family by his side. Richard attended Johnstown High School (Pennsylvania) where he was an All-Star baseball pitcher. Following graduating from high school, he joined the United States Air Force and subsequently attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. Richard then married and raised his family on Long Island in New York. Richard was very active in his men’s group in south Florida, volunteered at St. Marks Church in Cooper City, FL and was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants fan.

Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who is survived by his daughter Theresa, and son in law Ray Alden of Raleigh, NC and his son James and his wife Mirtha of Ponte Vedra, FL; 4 grandsons, Tommy and Richie of Raleigh, NC, Cameron and Tyler of Ponte Vedra, FL, and his granddaughter Carolina of Raleigh, NC. Richard was predeceased by his wife Janice Churilla.

Richard will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
