Obituary
Robin Loftin Davis

Cary , North Carolina

Age 69.
Died 07/16/2025.

Robin Loftin Davis
Robin passed peacefully at home with her daughter Amy and husband Lee at bedside holding her hands Wednesday morning July 16,2025.

Born in Charlotte, NC, Robin was the daughter of the late Partricia and Billy Loftin of Easley, SC.

She is survived by her daughter Amy Davis of Morrisville and husband Lee of Cary, sister Karen Loftin Owens of Easley SC, brother Mitch and wife Jami Loftin of Taylors SC, sister in law Kaye and husband David Ritchie of Dothan Alabama, brother in law Dennis Davis of Scottsboro Alabama, and sister in law Carol and husband Tom Elpers of Spartanburg SC.

Her dad called her “tiger” for a reason. She was a fighter. She never gave a second thought to standing up for those in need or wrongfully treated, and never gave up in face of many health problems.

As a teenager, she worked at Shriners Hospitals in Greenville SC, helping many young children and babies. While attending Clemson, she worked as an EMT on ambulances many nights while taking pre-med classes and serving as president of Clemson's pre-med society. While at Clemson she suffered severe burns to her face due to another student's error in chemistry lab. While traumatic and it resulted in loss of one year of college, she was very fortunate a hometown physician with extensive experience with military burn victims was able to treat her in time, and her sister Karen was patient and caring enough to provide daily wound care needed over many weeks to recover. After returning to Clemson, she met her soon to be husband Lee, graduated and was accepted into medical school. She attended medical school but health problems during 2nd year and again when repeating 2nd year prevented completion.

While one dream was cut short, she later used her medical knowledge and persistence to research medical journals (before time of internet) to find key knowledge on importance of folate in pregnancy, as she endured several miscarriages even with the latest medical treatments. Several years later, use of folate along with previous treatments resulted in successful birth of Amy, a true miracle! Robin said she understood what God was when Amy was born! She got to see Amy grow up to be a beautiful young lady, an artist, and a caring medical professional (following in Robin's footsteps!). This brought true joy to Robin.

Robin endured many health problems over many years, including diabetes, non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis NASH, heart failure requiring pace-maker, pneumonia, and breast cancer. She never gave up. She was able to reverse diabetes with diet. Her liver regenerated significantly and enzymes improved with diet and medications. After chemo treatments for breast cancer, her heart function declined significantly, but even that was reversed back to normal levels with medication treatments! While she beat the odds for her aggressive form of cancer, living 8 years past, limitations to her body and available treatments finally took its toll, but her soul and spirit will always live on with all of us!

Robin loved pets and their unconditional love, owning many dogs , cats, birds and other animals over many years!

Robin loved hugs and giving hugs to the all the medical staff she could over the many years of care.

A celebration of her life was held at home with family on July 19th as she wished.

icon
Immediate Burial

$2497.50

An immediate burial has the same end result as a traditional burial; however, we have eliminated the extra (sometimes unnecessary) services prior to getting to the cemetery. Not everyone wants an open casket for viewing or a limousine for the family. Despite the term immediate, we can move as fast as you need or as slow as you like. This option simply allows you to save money by eliminating some of the fancy extras at the funeral home.

icon
Traditional Funeral

$6081.48

We offer the same traditional funeral services as the big corporately owned funeral homes in the area; however, we cost about half the amount. You might consider a traditional funeral service if your family is looking for an open casket visitation, a traditional church service or a funeral service in the funeral home's chapel. A traditional funeral service can be altered to fit the needs of your family.

icon
Green Burial

$3033.75

This establishment is one of a select number of funeral homes who meet the criteria for providing green funeral service by the Green Burial Council; a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization working to encourage environmentally sustainability in the field of funeral service. Our Green options allow for a funeral to take place without the use of toxic and non-biodegradable materials/chemicals.

Aquamation

$2640.59

As an alternative to traditional cremation, City of Oaks Funeral Home also offers Aquamation. The Aquamation process, often referred to as alkaline hydrolysis, uses a solution of water and potassium hydroxide to facilitate natural decomposition.
