Steven Mark Suzanne Jr.

Steven Mark Suzanne Jr., 56, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away on October 14th, 2026, due to health complications. He was surrounded by his loved ones and was in no pain when he passed.

Born on November 15th, 1969, in Orleans County, New York, Steven was the son of Steven Mark Suzanne Sr. and Kay Francis Seefeldt. He joined the Navy in 1988, serving on active duty for 12 years as a machinist and Hydraulic/Mechanical System Mechanic on aircraft carriers, including his last duty assignment on the USS John F. Kennedy stationed in Mayport, Florida. During his service, he became a shellback by crossing the equator on February 12th, 1990, and received numerous decorations, including the Navy Pistol Marksmanship Award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Flag Letter of Commendation National Medal. He was honorably discharged on December 19th, 1999.

Steven married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Irene Kile, on August 17th, 1991, in Orleans County, New York. Together, they had two children, Ashley Rae Suzanne and Joseph Charles Suzanne.

Steven was an active scouter, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and later becoming a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow. He was also an active member of the ARRL and South Wake Amateur Radio Club under the call sign WB4SMS, American Legion Post 116, and his local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Steven loved bourbon, 3D printing, animals and nature, laughing, and sharing his experiences and expertise with those who would listen. He was loved and admired by many people, and he loved many at the same time.

He is survived by his spouse, Elizabeth Irene Suzanne; his children, Ashley Rae Yokeley (Brandon) and Joseph Charles Suzanne; his parents, Steven Mark Suzanne Sr. and Kay Francis Suzanne; and his brother, Scott Marshall Suzanne.

A celebration of life is currently being planned for November 15th, 2026, with details to follow.
