Beloved Sue Dianne (Marshall) Kenney passed away peacefully October 25, 2026, surrounded by her cherished family. Born October 16, 1942 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Shirley (Myler) and Woodrow Marshall of the Ohio River Valley region around East Liverpool, Ohio. A graduate of East Liverpool High School and City Hospital, Sue Dianne ventured beyond Ohio with high school sweetheart and husband, Bernard Kenney, sharing their lives together and raising five sons in Raleigh and Cary, NC. Her family grew to include four daughters-in-law, 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Sue, a registered nurse, was a faithful wife, devoted mother, and treasured friend to many.  Her dear sister, Roberta Fickle (John), and many extended family members remain in northeastern Ohio, her home of origin.  Preceding Sue in death, were brothers James (Lori) Marshall and David (Betty) Marshall of Massillon, Ohio.

Sue was known for her strong faith, kindness for all, sweetness, bright smile, and home cooking that everyone loved, often enjoyed surrounded by her family.  Survivors include husband of 62 years, Bernie Kenney, sons Tom (Wendy Jodry), Paul (Muirae), Patrick (Fran), Andrew (Deborah), and Mark as well as her grand and great-grandchildren.

Nurturing and continually giving to her family, many friends, co-workers, and neighbors, Sue’s strength and abiding hope will continue in the lives she cared for and touched.

A funeral Mass celebrating the life of Sue Dianne will be at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary, NC on November 6, 2026 at 11 am, followed by a reception.
