Suzanne Reinhardt Blundell

Suzanne Reinhardt Blundell died on October 30, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Cary, North Carolina. She was 91 years young.

She was born Suzanne Cleo Reinhardt on July 8, 1930, in New Orleans, Louisiana, which she always considered home, where she graduated from McMain High School, and met and married the love of her life, Gordon Lane Blundell, Sr., shortly after World War II. She was also a resident of Metairie and Mandeville, Louisiana, for much of her life, having also lived in Jackson, Mississippi, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Cary, North Carolina.

Sue was a talented artist, avid traveler, hurricane survivor, fashionista, golfer, seamstress, staunch feminist, and duplicate bridge player. Art, travel, and interior design were her lifelong passions. She enjoyed a good sense of humor, and lived and died true to her motto, “to thine own self be true.”

She is survived by her children: Gordon Lane Blundell, Jr., Wade Patrick Blundell, and Bonnie Blundell; eight dear grandchildren: Gordon L. Blundell, III, Eric Charles Blundell, Reid Marshall Blundell, Weston Wells Blundell, Christian Penn Oser, Bria Blundell Goeller, Anne Morgan Blundell, and Harman Beccah Goeller. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gordon Lane Blundell, Sr.; her parents, Estelle Harman Reinhardt and Alden Ernest Reinhardt; her sister, Aldene Reinhardt Toca; and her daughter, Rebecca Blundell Oser.

Her family held a private memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Doctors without Borders, St. Joseph’s Indian School, and Compassion and Choices.
