In Loving Memory of Mom (affectionately known as Mamusya)

Mom was born in Vitebsk, Belarus to the late Haskel Iskhizov and Rakhil Lyon on June 29, 1937 and passed away on October 16, 2026 at home in Cary, NC.

She attended Civil Engineering College and worked for 35 years in the construction industry in Vitebsk and Minsk. She came to United States with her daughter and grandson in February 1991 and worked in Kingston NY in various industries and as caregiver showing her unconditional love for kids.

Mom was, without a doubt, one of the most selfless people you could ever meet. Outgoing, warm and never met a stranger. She had a heart that had no limits and a natural instinct to help anyone in need. Through her life, she touched countless people with her kindness, generosity, and compassion, always giving all of herself without ever expecting anything in return.

She was fiercely dedicated to her family overseas - her beloved mom, her sister Faya, and her nieces Alla and Olga, who she would help anytime no matter the effort involved. Her grandson Dmitriy was a center of her universe until the minute she died. She was not well in her last days but made sure she would not die without him at her bedside.

Her compassion made a difference in more lives than she could ever have known. She was lovingly called "Mother Teresa" by her colleagues in Minsk and in Kingston NY, and countess families in the triangle Area. Russian and Belorussian kids adopted by local NC families were always calling her "Our Grandma". She was the best cook and was lovingly called "a Soup Nazi" by her son-in-law Frank.

She loved music and was a very good singer. She loved watching the world news, especially CNN, because she always had a need to be informed. She loved crosswords, she loved the ocean and peaceful sound of waves and the the beauty she found all around her. She had a soft place in her heart for animals of every kind, but she was a "cat person" with lifelong love for horses.

Momusya leaves behind her daughter Anna, her cherished grandson Dmitriy, her son-in-law Frank, her niece Olga, her ex-husband Lev, her grandnephew Leonid and his wife Julia and their children Ron and Shai, her grand dog Olivia and many dear friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing her and fortunate enough to experience her love.

A celebration of Life is currently being planned for November with details to follow. Casual attire welcome. Private family service will be held prior to celebration.

In leu of flowers, please make donations to Transitions LifeCare at transitionslifecare.org, or to SPCA of Wake County Tax ID #56-0891732, or to Alzheimer's association at www.alz.org.

Mamusya will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
