Thomas Edward McHale

Thomas “Tom” McHale passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2026, surrounded by the love and care of family and under the care of Hospice. Tom was a true baseball fan. He loved the game at every level- from Major League Baseball to minor league, high school, and little league games. He could recall players, statistics, memorable games, and details that amazed those around him. Baseball was more than a pastime for Tom; it was something he loved to talk about and share with others. He especially enjoyed watching games and talking baseball with his nephew and best friend, Brian, with whom he shared a very special bond. Tom also enjoyed westerns and spending time with neighbors and family. He often shared memories of his younger years and fun with his best friend Terry. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Edward McHale and Virginia Elinor Nicholas McHale; and his niece Kim McHale. He is survived by his daughter, Laura McHale (wife Becca Papach); stepdaughter Angela Cochran & her children Ethan/Kaylee; his brother, Phillip McHale (Sharon); his sister, Jeanine Towne (Art); his nephews, Brian Towne (Sherrie), Kenny Towne (Amanda), Mike McHale (Angie); and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and by all who knew him. A family visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 3:00- 5:00 p.m. at Tom’s home.
